Restaurant Report Card: Shane’s Rib Shack

KATHLEEN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “The team members make it truly special,” said Shane’s Rib Shack owner Seeb Lacey.

The team at Shane’s Rib Shack at 670 Lake Joy Road in Kathleen works hard, and customers notice.

“We constantly have positive reviews,” said Lacey. “So we love our customers as well.”

Barbecue has to be done a certain way.

“Low and slow man, the lower the temp, the slower the cook time, that’s going to be where it’s at,” said Lacey.

When you’re at Shane’s Rib Shack, that’s how the ribs get their taste.

“I tell you what, obviously the ribs, the ribs are special man they are incredible,” said Lacey.

Lacey wouldn’t mislead you with crazy suggestions.

“This may sound a little strange, I know we’re a barbecue restaurant, but the chicken fingers are amazing,” said Lacey. “Chicken fingers are in my opinion the best in town.”

Fortunately, you can get a plate of both if you like–along with tons of other options on the menu, including wings.

The perfect health inspection shows how hard Shane’s works.

“As soon as we took over ownership two and half months ago–[we figured out you] just to have a list,” said Lacey. “A basic list–this is what we do, this is what we knock out on a daily basis–X, Y, Z, let’s do it. [It’s] the first thing before we open the doors. Let’s just do it. It leaves it out of question–you don’t have to worry about it. If the health department comes in, we’re good.”

Shane’s Rib Shack is good at making the grade this week.
