Restaurant Report Card: S & S Wings
“Word of mouth is everything in business, and they’ve got a great reputation,” said customer Michael Martin. “Oh it’s good it’s always fresh, they’re always smiling–good, friendly service.”
S & S Wings at 335 Allen Memorial Drive in Milledgeville is cooking up some great wings. But first, here’s a couple of restaurants that need to step it up this week.
American Wings & Deli on Pio Nono Avenue scored a 51.
No one was left in charge when the inspector got to the restaurant, an employee chewed gum while taking orders and making drinks, and an employee didn’t change gloves after he prepared food, went outside, and came back to prepare more food.
Crazy Bull on Second Street scored a 57.
There was no certified food safety manager, a mold-like substance was on a can of opened marinara sauce, and they had expired eggs in the fridge.

In a small building in Milledgeville, you’ll find big hearts and big taste.
“We cook to taste and everything’s cooked to order,” said Sams. “Everytime I eat it’s a good feeling–a good taste and a good feeling when I eat it.”
It’s good and homemade.
“Everything is homemade here,” said Sams. “Tarter sauce and ranch dressing all our stuff. Even the hamburgers are home made. The lemonade is freshly squeezed, everything.”
Staying clean comes first.
“Very clean people we keep the place clean, we have to,” said Sams. “Because people look in the inside. People-a lot of customers they’ll come and look inside the window and see how clean the place is.”
S&S Wings is making the grade this week.
