Restaurant Report Card: Martin’s BBQ

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “Customer service and cook it fresh everyday,” said Martin’s BBQ owner Richard Martin.

There isn’t much to Richard Martin’s successful formula at Martin’s BBQ.

“That’s the key to good barbecue,” said Martin.

But there are a lot of customers who like it.

“We know a lot of them by name, a bunch of them are repeat,” said Martin.

“If you look on the door we’ve already sold out today–so we’ve already old out,” said Martin. “And that’s the downside to cooking fresh everyday.”

You better get there early.

“You only have a certain amount of food and when it’s gone it’s gone,” said Martin.

The answer to the formula is some great food, and it goes fast.

“We serve anywhere from 350 to 450 customers a day that just walk through the door–and that’s just at lunch,” said Martin.

Add in a perfect health inspection as well.

“It’s very hard to do when you run a full service restaurant,” said Martin. “Because it’s like you said there’s so many different variables. Our health department here in Houston County does a great job of keeping everyone safe. And they do a thorough inspection as well. So you have to stay on your toes you know.”

Martin’s Barbecue is making the grade.
