Restaurant Report Card: Margarita’s
“We come probably too often and great service, great food, we love it. Best one in town,” said customer Greg Brown.
This authentic Mexican place backs it up.
But first, here’s a restaurant that needs to step it up this week.
Longhorn Steakhouse at 100 Hampton Court in Perry scored a 77.
They stored raw beef over ready to eat shredded cheese, a couple of different foods weren’t stored at cold enough temperatures to be safe, and multiple kitchen surfaces had grease and residue all over them.
Other scores this week:
Marco’s Pizza on Russell Parkway – 93
Dab’s Cafe on Terminal Drive – 91
El Sombrero on Forsyth road – 81
Lee & Eddie’s BBQ on Second Street – 96
Subway on Eisenhower Parkway – 83
Carlyle Place on Zebulon Road – 95
Church’s Chicken on Shurling Drive – 83
Little Tokyo on N. Columbia Street – 100
Los Magueyes on N. Columbia Street – 100
Stacked on N. Columbia Street – 100

Margarita’s is more than just a sip of a good drink.
The manager swears the food is a step above.
“I think our special recipes, the quality of the meat, customer service,” said manager Angel Canul.
Canul recommends some good food.
“Saviche is one of our best foods,” said Canul.
Sounds good right?
“I mean I, honestly, most Mexican places all the food tastes the same. But here, it’s distinct flavors no matter what you get,” said Brown.
“It’s grilled steak, chicken, shrimp, onions, tomatos in a bed of rice and cheese on top,” said Canul.”
Plus being clean is a priority.
“Cleaning is one of the most important things in the restaurant, when the people they can come, they can eat at a clean place,” said Canul. “When the inspection comes they can go in the kitchen and they can see everything clean.”
And Margarita’s appreciates the success.
It’s making the grade this week.
