Restaurant Report Card: La Joya

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “It’s such a small restaurant so it’s easy to get close with the employees, my boss, and the customers,” said La Joya server Missy Brazil.

It’s a small restaurant with a big taste.

“We have things that can feed a lot of different people,” said Brazil. “There’s Tex-Mex and then there’s authentic Mexican and we try to do more authentic food here.”

You might be used to that Tex Mex style.

“A lot of people who are from California or if they’re from Mexico they’ll say, oh, this tastes just like the tacos we have in California or this tastes just like my mom’s food,” said Brazil.

But this is straight from Mexico herself.

“That’s what La Joya brings to Dublin,” said Brazil.

That perfect health inspection is as authentic as the food.

“It’s always in the back of their mind the cleanliness of a restaurant but if you’re interested and if you’re dedicated to serving good, quality food, it’s not really hard to keep a good score,” said Brazil.
