Restaurant Report Card: Hudson’s BBQ
The wild decor at Hudson’s BBQ greets you as you eat.
“it’s a sort of hunting atmosphere,” said Brown.
“(It’s) has been a family passion of ours for years,” said owner Rob Hudson. “And this is a good bit of our collection.”
It’s an impressive collection and an impressive health inspection score.
But first a few restaurants that need to step it up this week.
Jalisco Grill on St. Patrick Drive in Perry scored a 78.
Employees had raw bacon stored above vegetables in the kitchen, They had containers of salsa and peppers stored without a cover, and the queso cheese wasn’t at a cold enough holding temperature.
Taj Indian Restaurant on Brookhaven Drive in Macon scored a 76.
Employees had raw eggs stored over wine coolers, food in the cooler wasn’t cold enough, and they stored drinks in the ice storage bins.
Rigby’s Entertainment on Karl Drive in Warner Robins scored a 77.
The hand sink was blocked by a table in the kitchen, food wasn’t stored at a cold enough temperature, and there were ants at the service station and some in the kitchen.

If you like hunting, or if you just like good home cooking along with barbecue, head over to Hudson’s Barbecue in downtown Roberta.
“This guy here has the best barbecue around, ” said Brown. “They’re known for their barbecue.”
“On Sundays we get pretty busy, and the line will wrap around,” said Hudson.
Hudson hunts for ways to be a part of the community.
“The Kiwanis club meets here every weekend, every week, every Wednesday actually,” said Hudson. “We have several church groups, the Lion’s Club meets here every month.”
Plus the perfect health inspection keeps the restaurant clean.
“My staff actually gets a lot of the credit too,” said Hudson. “They’re really the ones that help me keep everything looking the way it should.”
“Everybody knows everybody,” said Brown.
Take a great community, great food and that health inspection score, and you’ve got a trophy of a restaurant.
Hudson’s BBQ is making the grade this week.
