Restaurant Report Card: Genghis Grill

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “All the fresh cut meats and all the fresh cut vegetables that we do everyday,” said Genghis Grill owner Will Conner.

The options never seem to end at Genghis Grill at 5437 Bowman Road in Macon.

“They can eat as healthy as they want to in this restaurant,” said Conner.

That includes healthy options for food and how you order as well.

“We have options that people can order directly at the table, we’re always looking at new things, we’re very up and coming,” said Conner.

“Great, great restaurant–staff was awesome, loved it so much I came down here and ate three nights in a row, and I hardly ever do that,” said customer Jesse Calderon.

You can build your own bowl.

“With us you don’t weigh anything out so if you want to fill it up with proteins you fill it up,” said manager Ben Donaldson.

Donaldson showed us how he customizes his meal.

“Me, personally, I just like going with steakhouse blend,” said Donaldson.

Add some veggies.

“Broccoli is always a favorite,” said Donaldson.

Then sauce.

“I already know what I like,” said Donaldson. “I like a mix between the Thai Peanut and the roasted garlic.”

The perfect health inspection on the wall is great too.

“We dealing with a lot of raw food to the public,” said Conner. “And so we want everyone to understand that we’re clean and we’re safe and you’re not going to have a bad experience. That we take everything very seriously.”

Genghis Grill is making the grade this week, but here’s a restaurant that needs to step it up.

Hibachi Grill Buffet on Highway 441 in Dublin scored a 77.

The food in the walk-in cooler wasn’t properly covered, the food on the cold bar wasn’t cold enough, and they had cloth rags laying on the counter tops.
