Restaurant Report Card: Chico & Chang
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “Very different, very different,” said Chico & Chang owner Ning Chang.
If you want your food to stand out from the crowd and your taste buds to cheer you on, make it a trio with you, Chico and Chang.
“It’s like a fusion style,” said Chang. “It’s more like a Korean food served in Mexican way,” said Chang.
The line stretched way back at Chico and Chang at 3850 Riverside Drive in Macon.
“We want to bring something new to Macon, something totally different that we don’t have here in Macon,” said Chang.
Grab a meat–which has a distinctly Korean taste to it, and the way you want it to be served–which is distinctly Mexican.
“There are people totally not familiar with it so you just have to educate the customers a little bit,” said Chang.
Good food and a great health inspection seem to go well together–like a taco and green tea.
“If we can get 100 with the health department that shows that we do care about cleanliness here,” said Chang. “And we’re trying to keep it up with that as well.”
Chico and Chang is making the grade this week, and here’s a restaurant that needs to step it up: The Rookery on Cherry Street scored an 81.
An employee handled food with bare hands, some of the cheese and meat wasn’t cold enough in storage, and a refrigerated drawer needed to be repaired.
