Restaurant Report Card: Barberito’s
“Oh they’re funny man, I love ’em,” said customer Mitch Williamson.
But first, here’s a restaurant that needs to step it up this week.
Church’s Chicken on Central Drive in East Dublin scored a 70.
It didn’t have its most recent inspection score posted, the hand wash sink had bottles and cleaning supplies in it, and the cheese in the preparation cooler wasn’t cold enough.
The McDonalds on Zebulon Road scored a 78.
It had a mold like substance in the ice machine, chemicals near the grill area, and grease on the floor in the kitchen.
More scores this week:
1842 Inn on College Street – 100
CC Fish House on Chambers Road – 99
Chen’s Wok 6 on Gray Highway – 84
Fincher’s Barbecue on Houston Avenue – 88
Kudzu Catering on Brookdale Avenue – 99
Parish on Cherry Street – 91
Rivalry’s Sportsbar and Grill on Northside Drive – 90
S & S Cafeteria on Eisenhower Parkway – 87
Smok’N’Pig on Eisenhower Parkway – 93
Urban Cup on Riverside Drive – 99
Barberito’s thrives on friendly service.
“That’s what we go for: being friendly to our customers, being nice to our customers,” said Barberito’s manager Mitch Medley.
“All of are just real bright, they really jump out at you, they’re not just how may I help you, they actually talk to you,” said customer Connor Maczie.
That works for the college crowd.
“We live and die by the college crowd,” said Medley.
“Without the college crowd this business wouldn’t make it,” said Medley.
It helps to have good food as well.
“Fajita burrito because it comes with the sauteed–any of the sauteed veggies you want we throw them on the grill with the meat, we throw them altogether wrap em up in any of our delicious wraps,” said Medley.
Plus that perfect health inspection wraps it all together.
“We have to be on top of all our cleaning, a the customers see it, and b we’re serving bad food,” said Medley.
You won’t find any bad food here, but you may find some friends.
Barberitos is making the grade this week.
