Residents Want Blighted Areas in Bloomfield Community Gone
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some Macon residents have had enough of trash building up around their houses and they want the city to do something about it.
People living in the Bloomfield community voiced their concerns at Macon’s city council meeting on Tuesday.
Councilman Larry Schlesinger says the city is doing all it can to address the issue, but it’s going to take work from everyone.
“I’ve been encouraging our municipal court judge to really turn up the pressure on some of these owners who have to do something,” he said.
Schlesinger says property owners who are in control of the blighted areas, are sometimes hard to track down. He says he’s working with neighborhood groups to come together and take care of the dilapidated areas themselves.
