Residents head to the polls in Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Residents in Middle Georgia have until 7pm tonight, December 1st, to head to the polls and vote in the different elections going on in Middle Georgia.

There are six candidates running in the state senate District 20 special election, which covers Houston, Bleckley, Pulaski, and Laurens Counties.

The six candidates are Larry Walker III, Brooks Keisler, Jon Martin, Michael Reece, James Pettis, and Vivian Childs. If there is a runoff, that will be held on December 29th.

The winner will fill the unexpired term of senator Ross Tollesson, who resigned on November 1st after being diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease. In Monroe County, there is a run-off for the Forsyth City Council Post 2 Seat.

In Washington County, There is a run off for Davisboro Mayor, the winner will be either Sandra Braswell or Walter Thomas.

After a re-count, there will be a runoff for Soperton Mayor, between Royce Fowler and Josh Kelly.
