Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia serves Thanksgiving meals to hundreds

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Hundreds gathered at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia for a traditional Thanksgiving feast Thursday.

This is a time to give families in need a chance to sit down with loved ones to celebrate the holiday. Organizers say no one should have to be alone or go without Christian fellowship and a hot meal.

Elderly and disabled home bound families got meals delivered to their homes.

“Many of them don’t have family. Many of them are in ill health, they can’t cook, and right possibly wouldn’t have a thanksgiving meal if it was for the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia,”says Mark Stevens, with the Rescue Mission.

Over 200 volunteers helped feed about 1,300 families.
