41NBC/WMGT RESCAN FAQS

41nbc Rescan Dig05102019 106x36

Why do I have to rescan my over-the-air Television on June 21st?

In 2017, Congress authorized the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to hold an auction to provide more channels for wireless broadband services. As a result of the auction, and to comply with the law, 41NBC/WMGT Television is performing upgrades to our transmission towers to enable all of our FREE over-the-air channels (41NBC 41.1, BounceTV/MyNet 41.2, Escape TV 41.4 and Laff TV 41.5) to change frequencies.

On Friday, June 21st, we are moving to our new frequency. This move will impact viewers using an antenna anywhere in Macon, Warner Robins and all over Middle Georgia inside of the Macon Designated Market Area. After the frequency change, viewers watching with an antenna, will still find 41NBC/WMGT-TV on 41.1, BounceTV/MyNet on 41.2, Escape TV on 41.4 and Laff TV on 41.5.

Why can’t I find auto scan using my remote?

All televisions are different. For most TVs, the channel scan prompt is located in the “channel set-up” or “broadcast set-up” menu item. If you cannot find these (or similar) options, check your owner’s manual or search for your television’s specific instructions online.
