Rep. Peake named Vice Chair of House Rules Committee

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Representative Allen Peake (R-Macon) is the new Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee.

The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Peake the vice chairman Wednesday. The House Rules Committee oversees the flow of legislation from passage in committee to determination of what bills should be debated and voted on the House floor.

“I am honored to be named Vice-Char of the Rules Committee,” Peake said in a statement. “I look forward to working with or House leadership to continue to push common sense legislation for our state.”

Peake currently serves as a member of the Health & Human Services and Small Business Development committees, as well as Ex-Officio of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development and Vice Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee.
