“Releaf” Your Community: Tree Giveaway happening in Macon and Warner Robins

This Saturday, residents of Macon and Warner Robins have the chance to help “releaf” their community, literally!

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMMGT) – Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful and Keep Warner Robins Beautiful are teaming up for a special community tree giveaway. The event will feature dozens of tree varieties at two convenient locations, giving locals the opportunity to beautify their neighborhoods while supporting the environment.

Asha Ellen, Executive Director of Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful, and Tiffany Bowen, Manager of Keep Warner Robins Beautiful, shared more details during an interview

For those wondering how the giveaway works, Bowen explained that participants can simply show up and select a tree to take home. Organizers will also provide guidance to ensure the right tree goes to the right spot.

With a wide selection of tree species available, attendees can choose from options that suit different spaces and climates. Ellen noted, “We want people to pick trees that will thrive in their yards, and we’ll have staff on hand to help them make the best choice.”

In addition, an arborist will be available at the Macon location to provide tips and advice on planting and caring for your new tree. “Residents can expect guidance on everything from soil preparation to watering schedules, ensuring their trees grow healthy and strong,” Bowen said.

The “Releaf Tree Giveaway” is happening this Saturday, December 13th, from 9 a.m. to noon in both Macon and Warner Robins. Residents can visit the organizations’ websites for more details and location information. It’s a perfect opportunity to give back to the environment and enhance the beauty of your community.
