Red Cross Honors Hometown Heroes

Today, the American Red Cross of Central Georgia honored those who dedicate their lives to helping others. A special breakfast was held at Macon State College to recognize 12 individuals who are considered to be outstanding citizens in Middle Georgia.

The hometown heroes are:

• Jamie Powers, Disaster Relief Hero
• Stephanie Welch, Emergency Response Hero
• Judy Samuels, Fire Rescue Hero
• Richard Hartry, Good Samaritan Hero
• Doreen Sams, Go Green Hero
• Reverend Rhett Baird, Guardian Angel Hero
• Janet Campbell, International Hero
• Detective Joseph Vamper, Military Hero
• Winn Murray, Paving the Way Youth Hero
• Mary Persons High School Class of 2011, Paving the Way Youth Heroes
