Record heat today, feeling like fall tomorrow in Middle Georgia

Good evening,
Felt more like summer today than mid-October, but changes are coming for Middle Georgia.

Today we saw record high temperatures here in Macon, with highs reaching 92! The old record was 88 set in 2015. The good news is that a major cool down is on the way, and hopefully this is the last we see 90’s into the fall.

A cold front has stationed itself near Atlanta this evening but is headed our way overnight and into Wednesday. This will bring much cooler and drier air our way through the end of the week.

Highs on Wednesday will make it up to the 80’s, but by Thursday the cooler air is firmly in place and our highs will struggle to make it into the middle 70’s.
