Major Hyundai vehicle recall over brake software issue

Hyundai has announced a recall of more than 421,000 vehicles due to a software problem that could cause brakes to activate unexpectedly. The affected models include certain Santa Cruz, Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid vehicles from 2025 and 2026. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has linked the issue to four crashes and four injuries. Owners will receive notification by mail in mid-July and can take their vehicles to a Hyundai dealership for a free software update.

‘Orb Funkee’ Squeeze Toys Pulled from Shelves Due to Asbestos Risk More than 120,000 ‘Orb Funkee’ squeeze toys are being recalled after tests found the sand filling may contain asbestos. The toys were sold at Walmart and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet stores nationwide between February 2025 and April 2026. Parents are urged to take these toys away from children immediately and follow special disposal instructions if any toys are damaged. Refunds are available through The Orb Factory. No injuries have been reported so far.

 

Birch Benders Pancake Mix recalled for undeclared egg

Before making breakfast, check your pantry: Hometown Food Company is recalling certain Birch Benders Sweet Potato Pancake and Waffle Mix because it may contain undeclared egg. The recall affects 12-ounce packages with lot code “5265” and best by date March 24, 2027. The mix was sold nationwide at grocery and natural food retailers, as well as online. People with egg allergies are at risk for serious reactions. Return the product to the store for a full refund. No illnesses have been reported.

 

Kroger Croutons recalled due to salmonella concerns

Kroger Homestyle Cheese Garlic Croutons are being recalled over potential salmonella contamination. The 5-ounce bags were distributed between March 7 and April 7 at Kroger stores in nearly 20 states. Customers can return the product or contact Sugar Foods for a refund. No illnesses have been reported at this time.

 

Whole Foods Minestrone Soup Recall: Undeclared shrimp

Hazard Kettle Cuisine is recalling 24-ounce cups of Whole Foods Market Kitchen Minestrone Soup after it was discovered that some packages contained undeclared shrimp, posing a risk to people with shellfish allergies. The recalled soup was sold at Whole Foods Market stores in multiple states and online. The affected product is marked with a use by date of May 27, 2026. Return the soup to the store for a refund. No illnesses have been reported.

 

SKS Copack Specialty Beverages recalled for salmonella risk

SKS Copack is recalling various specialty beverages due to potential salmonella contamination linked to an ingredient from a supplier. The products were distributed in more than 20 states through cafes, restaurants, and direct delivery. Affected packages can be identified by lot codes on the back. Return any recalled items to the place of purchase for a full refund. No illnesses have been reported so far.
