RECALL WATCH LIST: Nationwide recalls raise concerns over salmonella contamination
What consumers need to know about product safety alerts affecting foods and home equipment across the U.S.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A series of urgent product recalls are affecting consumers nationwide, involving everything from fresh foods to essential home equipment. Health and safety officials are urging the public to check their kitchens and garages for potentially hazardous items pulled from shelves in recent days.
Jalapeño products recalled over Salmonella risk

Taylor Fresh Foods has announced a recall of multiple products containing jalapeños due to a risk of salmonella contamination. This action comes on the heels of a similar recall by Coast Citrus Distributors, which also impacted some Chipotle and Qdoba restaurants. Taylor Fresh Foods has ended its relationship with the supplier and, so far, no illnesses have been reported. The recalled products were distributed to major retailers including Whole Foods, Target, Kroger, and Walmart across the country, with affected items having a “Best If Used By” date up to and including August 16, 2026. Consumers are advised to discard items such as salsas, burritos, dips, and jalapeño poppers and request a refund at the location of purchase.
Green Powder products pulled from shelves in a separate recall

Lexunder is withdrawing certain “Food to Live” brand green powder products due to potential salmonella contamination. These powders were sold online nationwide in resealable stand-up pouches and bulk cases. No illnesses have been reported, but customers are urged not to consume the powder and to return any products to the retailer for a full refund.
Attic Stairway Ladders recalled for safety defects

The safety of household equipment has also come into question, with a recall for more than 1.7 million Louisville Ladder attic stairway ladders equipped with gas struts. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, bolts on these ladders can break, posing a risk of serious injury or even death. Eleven incidents of bolt breakage and one injury have been reported. The affected ladders were sold at retailers such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Amazon.com from November 2012 through July of this year. Owners of an aluminum or wood frame attic stair kit from Louisville Ladder are encouraged to visit Louisville-Ladder.com and check the “Urgent Recall Notice” section for instructions on obtaining a free repair kit.
