Rain will close the week, but for now just a warm-up

Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After a cold start to the week, temperatures begin to warm today. Not by much, but they will! Our highs have been in the 40s the last couple of days, but today many of us will get to the low 50s. As a comparison:

Forecasted high: 52
Average high: 58

The change in the lows will be more significant. I’m expect far more 40s tomorrow morning after waking up to 20s the past couple of mornings.

Now let’s go into the rain: the models continue to show a high chance of rain for Friday. What’s changed is a slight bump in the rain chances Thursday. More clouds move into our area today, and a few showers will pop up, but the chance of rain is a little higher tomorrow (30 percent shot).

By Friday, a large batch of rain associated with a front pushes into the area in the morning and afternoon. The GFS and Euro models are showing rain chances Friday morning and afternoon, but the Euro has been consistent with lingering showers early Saturday morning.

Either way, we dry out Saturday afternoon and Sunday, just in time for the weekend! Temperatures will be chillier in the 40s for highs Saturday afternoon and then, yup, back in the 20s overnight into Sunday morning.
