Rain returns overnight
MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – An area of low pressure off the coast of Georgia overnight tonight will send showers to our area.
TODAY.
On this first day of April we could not ask for a better afternoon weather-wise! After the cold front passed through yesterday temperatures fell off quickly and have been slow to rebound. Afternoon high temperatures will run in the low to middle 60’s this afternoon which is about ten degrees cooler than where we should be for this time of year. We will be mostly sunny this afternoon, but after sunset clouds will quickly roll back in ahead of a weather disturbance that will bring rain to our area overnight. Scattered showers are expected overnight. Main shower development will be after midnight, and with this system moving off to the northeast quickly, I expect all of the rain to be cleared out by lunchtime tomorrow.
TOMORROW.
We will start the day on the cool side and we will be dealing with a cool afternoon as well. Temperatures tomorrow afternoon will slowly rise into the upper 50’s and lower 60’s across Middle Georgia under a mostly sunny sky. After sunset tomorrow evening temperatures will fall quickly into the upper 30’s and lower 40’s under a mostly clear sky.
REST OF WORK WEEK.
On Wednesday we will be dealing with a sunny sky, but that is short lived as rain is back in the forecast on Thursday. Rain chances on Thursday will be confined to the evening and overnight hours with the heaviest of rain falling on Friday.
