Rain returns as hot weather stays in place
MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT)- Heat index values will soar into the triple digits this afternoon as isolated rain chances return.
TODAY.
It is going to be a hot and humid Middle Georgia summer afternoon. Temperatures will warm into the middle 90’s with isolated showers and storms possible during the afternoon and evening hours. I expect a quiet night in the weather world with temperatures falling into the middle 70’s under a partly cloudy sky.
TOMORROW.
Rain coverage will increase for Tuesday as a “cold” front slides south. This front will be a focal point for shower and thunderstorm development tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures will warm back into the middle 90’s before falling into the middle 70’s overnight.
EXTENDED FORECAST.
Our long range forecast will stay hot, humid, and mostly dry. A ridge of high pressure will build across the U.S. this week. This means we will be pushing the triple digits by the end of the week. Make sure to stay hydrated and avoid direct exposure to sunlight during the peak heating hours of the day.
