Rain ends today, drier and warmer this weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A cold front continues its move through Georgia, and today it’ll finally move south with drier air filling into our area behind it.

A lot of the rain falls this morning. We have the aforementioned cold front, and we also have a wave of moisture riding the front and moving north through Middle Georgia. Storms aren’t an issue; it’s just plain rainfall.

Models have moved more of this rain to the north, which means it’ll take a little longer than originally expected for the rain to exit Middle Georgia. Fortunately, we are expecting clouds to decrease late in the afternoon, with the majority of the area drying out and clearing up by late this evening.

Tomorrow morning, we’ll start the day in the mid 30s and our highs will reach around 60. Sunshine returns tomorrow and continues through the whole weekend. Temperatures will continue their rise as well with upper 60s/low 70s for highs starting Sunday and continuing into Monday and Tuesday.
