MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who announced in September that he is running for governor in 2026, says his goal is to keep Georgia affordable and safe for all families.

“I’m running for governor to keep Georgia affordable and safe for all Georgia families,” Raffensperger said during a visit to Macon last week.

He said his experience as a conservative businessman has prepared him to strengthen Georgia’s economy by bringing in more jobs.

“I understand how to build a business, I know how to build teams, and that’s one thing I really stand uniquely qualified to say,” he said.

Raffensperger also spoke about his record at the Secretary of State’s office.

“We are now recognized number one for election integrity,” he said. “We have a great team, and as governor, we’ll build a strong team to make sure we continue Georgia forward.”

He said he has a bold conservative agenda that reaches every corner of the state.

“Rural, urban, suburban, everyone in Georgia having the opportunity to succeed,” he said. “You really do that by growing the businesses you have and encouraging new businesses to come here.”

If elected governor, Raffensperger said he wants to leave a legacy of safe neighborhoods, strong schools and economic opportunities for every Georgian.
