Qualifying Update: Three People Join Macon-Bibb County Mayoral, Commission Race

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two people have qualified to run for the new Macon-Bibb County commission, and one qualified to run for mayor.

Chhor Chav joined the race for District 6 which includes Robert Abbott, Ed DeFore, and Adah Roberts. Al Tillman qualified to run against James Timley in District 9.

Anthony B. Harris qualified to run as a write-in-candidate for mayor.

Macon-Bibb County Elections Supervisor, Jeanetta Watson, told 41NBC all the candidates who previously qualified have signed new affidavits and are remaining in the races.

Qualifying ends Wednesday July 24 at noon.

The deadline to register to vote is August 19th. Early voting begins August 26th and ends September 13th.

Election day is September 17th.
