Proposed changes in Jones County

JONES COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Changes may soon be coming to Jones County. The Board of Commissioners met Tuesday morning to hear about needs for the county.

Department heads including some from Code Enforcement, Recreation, Planning & Zoning and Development Authority presented budget requests that could benefit those living in the community.

Some items at the top of the list included funding to demolish blighted homes in neighborhoods and adding funding for the new Mattie Wells gym.

Board members will give final approvals in August.
