Price Increase for Elementary School Lunches in Bibb County
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County School District announced today that a school lunch price increase will go into effect on September 4th, according to a news release.
The price will go up ten cents, and will now cost $1.00 for Bibb County Elementary School students. The change is in accordance to a federal law, and is the first price increase in more than 20 years. Students of Middle and High Schools are already paying $1.00 for lunch.
The prices for school breakfasts will stay the same, however, and the increase does not affect those qualifying for free or reduced lunches.
The Bibb County Board of Education approved the increase this past August.
