Precious Cargo: Safety Palooza Aims to Educate on Child Car/Bike Safety
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Local law enforcement teamed up with Amerigroup Georgia on Saturday to help protect some very precious cargo.
Officers handed out helmets, assisted with car seats and educated parents on how to protect their kids on the road. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Macon-Bibb Fire Department and Amerigroup Georgia spent Saturday speaking about safety at the Macon Housing Authority. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, motor vehicle injuries are the leading cause of death among children in the United States.
“Better prepared parents would mean safer kids,” said Sergeant Chris Dunn with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, “they’re our future of Macon and we need to help them so we can have a better Macon.”
