Powerball Winnings Go to Macon Woman
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Shelia Dawson,60, is one of two winners in Wednesday’s Powerball winning $1 million.
Dawson, a maintenance technician and mother of four, said in a news release she thought she was living a dream.
“Surprisingly, I’m really calm. I guess it just hasn’t sunk in yet,” says Dawson.
She played the winning numbers at Discount Tobacco on 4224 Bloomfield Road.
Dawson plans to use the winnings to help her family, and purchase a new home.
The winning numbers from the drawing were: 1-17-35-49-54 and the Powerball number was 34.
41NBC reached out to the Georgia Lottery Corp. to get in touch with the winner. Dawson says she does not want to go on camera.
