Powerball Jackpot Numbers Drawn, Biggest Jackpot in History
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Wednesday night is the big night. We may finally have a winner for the huge Powerball Jackpot worth 550 million dollars. Tonight is the big night.
“This is a big one,” lottery player Gina Clark said.
“I want to be in on that,” lottery player Eric Robinson said.
And so does everyone else.
“Anyone can win. My chances are as good as anyone elses,” lottery player Ruby Lamb said.
You can’t win if you don’t play. The Powerball Jackpot started back on October 6th and has rolled 15 times. Now a month and a half later, we may finally have a winner.
“I only bought three but that’s enough” Lamb said.
Six numbers—that’s all that stands between you and the largest Powerball Jackpot in history. Whether it is a quick pick or you select your own numbers, everyone is hoping they have the winning ticket.
“It’s my turn. It’s my turn. Everybody gets a turn, it’s my turn,” lottery player Charvis Stallworth said.
“Feel like those numbers will finally pull through for you?” 41 NBC asked. “I hope so, I hope so, I really hope so,” Robinson said.
But the chances of winning big are pretty small. Georgia lottery officials say it is approximately one to 175 million. But at two dollars a ticket, people say it is a small price to pay for the chance to be a millionaire.
“I hope to be a winner tonight,” lottery player Willie Marcus said.
“It only takes a chance to win and it’s pretty high now so I’m just hoping I have the lucky ticket,” Clark said.
And that lucky six number combination is worth millions of dollars.
“What would you do with [550] million dollars?” 41 NBC asked. “Oh my gosh, so many things. Big family, big family so I know I would definitely help a lot of people,” Lamb said.
“Pay off all my bills,” Marcus said.
“I would save a lot of it and I’d get some things we need, not just things we want,” Clark said.
And they’re hoping the odds will be in their favor.
You can buy tickets until 10 o’clock Wednesday night and the winning numbers will be drawn at 11. If you win, you can choose to take the 550 million dollar prize in payments over the next 29 years or take a lump sum worth 360 million dollars.
