MACON, Georgia (WMGT/DT)- Porter Elementary is currently under a precautionary lockdown as authorities conduct a search in the surrounding community.

School officials say that during a precautionary lockdown, instruction continues as normal inside classrooms, but movement throughout the building is restricted as a safety measure.

At this time, all students and staff are reported safe. Officials say updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
