Portable Prayer Station Attracts Interest in Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local church is taking the scriptures to the streets with a portable prayer station, and the walking services are gaining attention across our area.
Once a month, the Covenant Church of Jesus Christ prays for people in Macon. This weekend, a small group huddled around church members on Poplar Street, who stood in the summer sun for hours, praying for nearly 50 people.
“It’s so many people that won’t come unless we come out here and let them know about what God is and how great God is,” said Covenant Church of Jesus Christ Deacon Earnest Fisher.
The idea of the prayer station is to provide a place to worship outside of the sanctuary. The station will be set up on the fourth Saturday of next month on Mercer University.
