Political analyst weighs in on US Senate, gubernatorial races

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – During 41NBC’s Decision 2014 coverage, political analyst Tom Ellington stopped by to share some insight on the state’s biggest races.

All eyes were on the US Senate and gubernatorial races.

Ellington said the US Senate race was especially important because the outcome could help determine which party has control of the senate. Georgia was one of several battle ground states. Republican candidate David Perdue won the seat. His opponent, Democrat Michelle Nunn, conceded to him and thanked her supporters.

Ellington also spoke about the governor’s race.

Ellington is a political science professor at Wesleyan University and a former Macon City Councilman.
