Police Turn to Facebook to Help Solve Crime

Law enforcement agencies here in Middle Georgia have a new tool to fight the bad guys. The Byron Police Department, Macon Police, and the Peach County Sheriff’s Office are a few local agencies who are using Facebook.

Lieutenant Byran Hunter with the Byron Police Department says, ” 90% of solving the crimes is just getting good information, and we can’t do that without the help from the citizens.” He says that’s the reason why they created a fan page.

Facebook’s popularity makes it ease for the Byron Police Department to reach community members.
