Jones Co. Deputies hoping to identify jawbone found near pond
JONES COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Jones County Sheriff’s Office says it found another part of a jaw bone while search for clues near New Clinton Rd in East Macon this week.
This comes after the lower portion of a human jaw was found Saturday.
“We did find a couple more pieces of bone believed to be to the jaw bone,” says Kenny Allen with the Sheriff’s Office.
Jones County Sheriff Butch Reese posted on Facebook Wednesday saying his investigators were searching the area for other remains.

Right now, deputies do not know how long the bones were in that location.
Allen says they don’t believe the bones are connected to a missing person from the area.
“We do have cadaver dogs coming next week to check the area around where we found the bone as well,” says Allen.
The bones are being sent to a crime lab.
Allen says the first bone was found by a fisherman near a pond on New Clinton Road.
