Police Continue to Follow Leads in Giddings’ Murder

 

Police continue to search around Lauren Giddings’ apartment looking for clues to help solve this disturbing murder.

Over the weekend community members placed flowers at Giddings’ apartment complex in her honor.  Investigators spent Monday digging through neighbors yards and following several leads.

Police also sent evidence they gathered over the weekend to a FBI crime lab in Virginia. According to police, the apartment below Giddings’ has been a focal point of the investigation.

While the investigation continues 25 year-old Stephen McDaniel, 
Giddings’ neighbor and a person of interest, remains in jail on unrelated burglary charges

 

Macon Police Chief Mike Burns issued a statement Monday afternoon,”Everyone involved in the investigation has tremendous sympathy for Lauren’s family. We intend to find the person who perpetrated this crime… We know that the public is concerned about safety in light of this crime. Let me reassure the public that our entire department is on alert looking for anything and or anyone who can shed light on this homicide. “

 Police are asking the public if they notice any unusual odors to call 1-877-68-CRIME.
