Police Chase Ends in Arrest, Another Suspect Is Still On The Run
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A Bibb County school was on lock down this afternoon after a police chase ended on school grounds. Hutchings career center was on lock down for about an hour this afternoon. According to police, two men were at the Wal-mart on Gray highway when someone called police about the two suspects shoplifting.
The suspects left the store in a white 1992 ford explorer. Investigators attempted to stop the vehicle while they were traveling down spring street toward downtown, that’s when the driver made a sudden u-turn traveling in the opposite direction of traffic. The suspects drove onto I-16 west and then I-75 south. The suv’s engine finally gave out.
The driver jumped out of the car running behind Hutchings Career Center. Several police officers chased the suspect on foot. Authorites arrested 30 year old Jerome Sharod Jarrell. Police say Jarrell has 12 previous arrests dating back to 2000.
More than a 160 blue ray dvd’s were recovered. Police are still looking for the second suspect. If you have any information call crime stoppers at 1-877-68-crime.
