Pleasant Hill Community Working with Macon Leaders on Revitalization Efforts
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Pleasant Hill community is working with local churches and the Ccity Macon to revitalize the neighborhood.
City and community leaders took a bus tour of the area Monday morning to pick out the places that need the most help. This is part of the city’s 5X5 program which targets a five block area and fixes it up over five weeks.
Pastor Jason McClendon of the Community Church of God says this tour was just the first step in beautifying the area.
“What we want to start off with is the streets that have to most dilapidated houses and the areas that have the most crimes,”: McClendon said. “Those streets, that’s where we’re going to start first.”
The next step in the revitalization effort is to choose the city’s area of focus.
