Pine Straw Scam in Bibb County

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is warning you about a scam in the area involving pine straw.

Deputies say some groups are charging for installing more bales of straw than they actually did.

You’re encouraged to email deputies with information about a suspect or vehicle if you encounter a group involved in the scam.

Deputies say scams like this are popular around this time as well as theft of lawn equipment.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says you should record all serial numbers and keep your storage and garage doors closed.
