Piedmont Urgent Care expands in Middle Georgia with four new locations
With the addition of the Dublin, Eastman, Milledgeville and Macon facilities, Piedmont Urgent Care now operates six urgent care centers across Middle Georgia.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Piedmont Urgent Care is expanding its footprint in Middle Georgia with the acquisition of four MedPlus Immediate Care locations, a move aimed at improving access to health care across the region.
With the addition of the Dublin, Eastman, Milledgeville and Macon facilities, Piedmont Urgent Care now operates six urgent care centers across Middle Georgia. Plans for further growth are already underway.
“We have plans for 12 [in] Middle Georgia. Right now we’re looking at securing sites for those and making sure that they’re in places where access to care might be limited,” said Stephen Daugherty, chief executive officer at Piedmont Macon Medical Center.
Daugherty said the newly acquired clinics are located in residential areas and will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“What we offer is convenience,” he said. “You know, everybody has busy schedules, trying to get kids to school. You’re trying to get to work. A lot of the things that you’re busy [with], urgent care [is for when] you’re not feeling well. And so we want that to be close to where you live and at times that are easily accessible to the public.”
Christine Mosely, practice manager at Piedmont Urgent Care facilities in Middle Georgia, said the expansion is meaningful for local families.
“Piedmont Urgent Care offers compassionate care that you can get right around the corner that’s close to home,” she explained. “So for us, to be in these other four markets down here in the southeast, that’s expanding that footprint and that availability to all these patients and families further down here in the southeast in Georgia.”
Mosely said the transition for current MedPlus patients will be smooth, with Piedmont continuing to offer a wide range of services for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Services include flu and strep testing, treatment for fractures and sprains, suturing, occupational medicine, and in-house X-rays.
Daugherty also highlighted how urgent care centers can prevent more serious health problems when treatment is accessible.
“There are things you will need hospital care for, but if we can provide it close to home, it’s something you can access and take care of issues before they become larger and require hospitalization. That’s what we want to do,” he said.
Piedmont expects the full rebranding of the four newly acquired locations to be complete by the end of August.
