Piedmont opens third primary care clinic in Middle Georgia

New Bass Road location in Macon expands access with same-day, online and video visits

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Piedmont has expanded access to primary care in Macon with the opening of Piedmont Primary Care at Bass Road, the health system’s third primary care facility in Middle Georgia this year.

The clinic is at 100 N. Macon St., off Bass Road.

Primary care providers manage routine and preventive health needs, coordinate care with specialists, and diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries and other conditions, the health system said.

“While we have provided access to care when people are the sickest and need emergent care, it is just as important to provide preventative care and care management to our community,” Stephen J. Daugherty, CEO of Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North Hospital, said in a statement. “We look forward to Piedmont’s plans to continue to expand primary care access here in Macon.”

Three physicians are accepting new patients at the Bass Road location:

• Anh Le, M.D. — Board-certified in internal medicine; treats chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, COPD, obesity, cardiovascular disease, stroke, chronic kidney disease and GERD. Special interests include women’s health, obesity management, geriatric medicine and advance care planning.

• Nisarg Patel, M.D. — Board-certified in family medicine; sees patients 16 and older for conditions such as heart failure, COPD/asthma, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis and other musculoskeletal issues. Special interests include preventive care, joint injections (knee, shoulder, carpal tunnel), skin biopsies, complex diagnostic evaluation and investigation of conditions with unclear cause.

• Izien Imoukhuede, M.D. — Certified in family medicine; provides comprehensive care for patients 16 and older, including acute and chronic conditions, preventive care and mental health, and coordinates care with specialists. Special interests include holistic family medicine and preventive health.

Earlier this year, Piedmont opened Piedmont Primary Care of Warner Robins and Piedmont Primary Care at Charter Blvd. Providers at those locations are also accepting new patients.
