Phillies’ Halladay Throws Three Scoreless Innings Against Braves

KISSIMMEE, FL – Roy Halladay tuned up for his start on opening day with three scoreless innings and had a two-run single as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves 6-1 on Sunday.

The NL Cy Young Award winner will face the Houston Astros on Friday in Philadelphia. On Sunday, he allowed two hits, walked none and struck out three while lowering his spring ERA to 0.42. Nate McLouth had a double in the first inning and Martin Prado a single in the third.

Raul Ibanz and Ryan Howard homered for the Phillies. Ibanz hit his fourth of the spring in the third inning against Braves starter Kenshin Kawakami and Howard smashed his fifth with a man on in the fifth off reliever Cristhian Martinez.

Howard, Shane Victorino and Ben Francisco each had two hits for the Phillies.
