Perry Volunteer Outreach Helps 365 Days a Year

Frank Shelton had a desire to help others and that’s just what he did after retiring from a successful career in business.

A decade ago, Shelton founded Perry Volunteer Outreach. People in need living in Perry and south Houston County go to PVO asking for help with co-pays, utility bills, transportation and Christmas presents.

Shelton says “If it’s determined to be a legitimate need and a real need, then we’ll do what we can to help with whatever that need may be.”

This year PVO is providing 127 families with gifts, 500 families with boxes of food and a holiday dinner for more than 800 people in need.

Mother of six, Geneva Osondu says “Perry would suffer without PVO.”

PVO has helped Osondu with getting transportation to and from work.

Shelton says his years at PVO have been far more meaningful than his time building a business.
