Perry PD issues compliance checks for local businesses, finds multiple businesses involved in unlawful sale of alcohol for minors

The Perry Police Department says community members with concerns regarding underage sales can contact the Perry Police Department at (478) 988-2800. 

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Perry Police Department conducted compliance checks for local businesses and found multiple businesses involved with the unlawful sale of alcohol and vaping products to individuals under the age of 21.

According to a press release, the following locations were found in violation:

  • Valero Store (517 Perry Parkway): Sale of Alcohol and Vapes to a Person Under 21
  • Squire Package (1312 Sam Nunn Blvd): Sale of Alcohol to a Person Under 21
  • Neighborhood Grocery (1205 Main Street): Sale of Alcohol and Vapes to a Person
    Under 21
  • Marathon Express (105 Marshallville Rd): Sale of Vapes to a Person Under 21

The Perry Police Department released the following statement:

“These incidents represent significant violations of Georgia state law and city ordinances, posing risks to the health and safety of the community, particularly our youth. We urge all businesses to implement strict age-verification processes when selling alcohol and tobacco-related products, including vaping devices. Compliance checks will continue to ensure retailers adhere to their legal and ethical responsibilities.”
