Perry Mayor Taking On New Role
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41 NBC/WMGT) – The city of Perry’s Mayor is taking on a new role.
Mayor Jimmy Faircloth is the new Special Projects Manager at Middle Georgia Technical College. He began on Monday, April 8. Faircloth will be helping to expand the educational opportunities not only for students in Middle Georgia, but also veterans and retirees to make sure that they are ready to join the workforce for the jobs coming to the area.
According to a news release sent today, Faircloth will “also work to coordinate and implement targeted projects to support Robins Air Force Base and other employers through the region.”
“The college has a good working relationship with the base,” Mayor Faircloth said. “We’ve created leadership and also the educational component facility for training and retraining current military members and some retirees, and they wish to expand that and I’m going to help in those endeavors.”
Mayor Faircloth is also continuing his term as Mayor of Perry, the Mayor position is part time, and while he will be working full time in his new position, he says he is still committed to being the Mayor.
41 NBC asked Mayor Faircloth if he will run for reelection. He said that he didn’t want to comment on the issue at this time.
