Chief Stephen Lynn said the department gets food or cards from time to time, but gifts have been more frequent since the recent attacks on officers across the nation.

“They’re acts of single people or two people working together and that can happen at any place. A large place, a small place, somewhere in between. We appreciate all the support and we’re going to make sure we earn it everyday,” said Chief Lynn.

The Perry Police Department is flying the flag outside its building at half staff and officers are wearing a mourning stripe on their badges to honor the officers who have been killed.
