PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Businesses in Perry are working together to assist community members affected by the ongoing government shutdown through a donation-based shopping initiative called Cans for Kindness – Shop Small. Give Big.

From November 10–21, customers can bring five canned goods to any participating business to receive 10% off their purchase. All donated food items will be provided to individuals and families in need.

“Downtown Perry has always been a community that takes care of its own,” said Alicia Hartley, downtown manager for the City of Perry. “Cans for Kindness allows residents to make a meaningful impact while supporting our small, locally owned businesses.”

Businesses participating in the initiative will display the official Cans for Kindness window poster. Shoppers are encouraged to check with each business for specific details and any purchase exclusions.

For more information about the initiative or how to participate, contact Downtown Manager Alicia Hartley at 478-988-2730 or Alicia.Hartley@perry-ga.gov.
