Peake loses bid for Georgia House Majority Leader seat
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After running for the House Majority Leader position in the Georgia State House, Allen Peake sent a letter to his supporters announcing he did in fact lose the election.
Peake ran against state Representative Jon Burns (R-District 159) out of Newington, Georgia.
He says in his statement, “It was a tough loss, as it is anytime you lose any type of election, whether it be for the school class president, city council, or Governor. The positive news is that I still get to represent the good folks of the 141st district in Monroe and Bibb Counties.”
Peaks calls serving middle Georgia a privilege and one of the highlights of his life.
