Peach County man sentenced to 35 years for home invasion, knife attack
Howard's office also announced its 2026 Domestic Violence Symposium, titled "Promote, Prevent & Persevere," scheduled for Tuesday, October 27.

PEACH COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 57-year-old man has been sentenced to 35 years after a Peach County jury convicted him of home invasion and aggravated assault involving his former partner and her boyfriend.
According to a news release from District Attorney Anita Howard’s office, Bruce Campbell was convicted Wednesday, October 14, and sentenced to 35 years, with the first 15 years to be served in prison.
Prosecutors said the victim ended her relationship with Campbell months before the attack. In March 2023, Campbell called her more than 50 times a day, threatened her and showed up at her home unannounced.
On May 24, 2023, Campbell forced his way into the victim’s home and attacked her and her boyfriend with a knife.
The boyfriend suffered a deep laceration to his upper torso but fought Campbell off until police arrived.
A 9-year-old child was also inside the home and witnessed the attack.
“This victim did everything right. She ended the relationship, and he refused to accept it,” Howard said. “The jury saw the pattern for what it was and reached a verdict quickly. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and I encourage anyone who is being harassed, stalked, or threatened to reach out to law enforcement or our Victim Services team.”
Howard’s office also announced its 2026 Domestic Violence Symposium, titled “Promote, Prevent & Persevere,” scheduled for Tuesday, October 27.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Macon Mall, located at 3661 Eisenhower Parkway. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
According to the district attorney’s office, the symposium will bring together community leaders, advocates, professionals and members of the public to discuss domestic violence prevention and resources available to individuals and families affected by domestic violence.
