Peach County Advances to Final Four

The 34-2 Peach County Trojans swept the 19-16 Mary Persons Bulldogs in the Quarterfinals of the GHSA AAA Baseball State Championships

FORT VALLEY, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – On Wednesday at the Trojan Athletic Complex at Peach County High School, the Peach County Trojans swept the Mary Persons Bulldogs in the Quarterfinal round of the GHSA AAA Baseball State Championships to advance to the Final Four.

Led by 14 strikeouts from Trojans Senior Pitcher Jackson Peavy, and a walk-off hit from Rigsby Booth in the bottom ninth, Peach County sealed their game one comeback scoring three unanswered runs to win 3-2.

The Trojans sealed their Final Four berth with a 3-0 shutout in game two to sweep the Bulldogs and advance. Peach County will host Cherokee Bluff Tuesday in the GHSA AAA Semifinals for a shot to go to the State Championship game.
